MTD Lifeline for Legacy bookkeeping Users who don’t support cloud
Following Sage’s decision not to provide older Sage packages with integration Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT solution.
BTCSoftware has some great news, BTCSoftware will offer Sage users functionality enabling you to still use your current Sage package.
The solution will enable Sage users to continue to use their beloved Sage bookkeeping packages and products and comply with Making Tax Digital for VAT via a digital integration with BTCSoftware’s BTCHub.
How will this work for legacy Sage Users?
VAT Return data for Sage bookkeeping packages will import into BTCHub’s MTD solution for VAT via saving a CSV file from Sage’s bookkeeping package.

What does BTCSoftware’s BTCHub do?
- Enable agents to submit their clients’ VAT returns directly to HMRC in the required MTD format.
- Enable agents to gather historical MTD VAT return data from HMRC and view it. This helps them to see what has been submitted historically, mainly if they have only recently started acting for the client.
- Provide a quick online agent-client authorisation process with HMRC replacing (for MTD VAT only) the old 64-8 forms.
