How to connect to a database

If, after an update, or a fresh install you need to connect to an existing database:
- Right-click on the BTCSoftware Solution icon on your desktop
- Select Run as administrator (If you are asked for a password at this step, please speak to your local IT team)
- When prompted with the message “Do you want to allow the following app to make changes to this computer?” select Yes
- Cancel out of the welcome screen and login windows with the X buttons
- Go to Administration > Tools > Edit Database location
- Click Browse and find the database location (Note: if your database is on an external drive you will need to navigate to it via the ip “192.168…“ or unc “\\server” path)
- Choose the database (usually named PracticeManager.accdb)
- Click OK
- The program will close. Reopen it as normal from the desktop icon.
