HMRC have issued an update regarding inaccurate SA302 calculations which were issued for 2017/18 for some Self-Assessment customers affected by exclusions. They have now performed a recovery of these cases.
Affected customers will receive a new SA302 calculation with advice from HMRC about what steps they should now take. New SA302 calculations were expected to be with customers by the end of October 2019. HMRC are also issuing a copy of the communication and SA302 to customers’ mandated agents. HMRC advise that they are not applying penalties and not charging interest on new amounts becoming payable – provided they are paid within 28 days of the date on the SA302/advice note.
HMRC says that customers who do not agree with their revised SA302 calculation can appeal within 30 days. Find more information here.
