The BTCSoftware team has been delighted to support local charity, Woking Street Angels, throughout 2017.
The organisation fields small teams of volunteers who walk the streets of Woking town centre each Friday and Saturday night, offering help or providing a listening ear wherever it is needed.
A great effort
Throughout 2017, the Woking Street Angels have kept vulnerable people safe – whether it be in the form of a listening ear, a warm blanket, a bottle of water, a safe journey home, first-aid, a protective presence and the list goes on.
In the last quarter alone they have helped at least 310 people, handed out 28 blankets, 133 pairs of flip flops and cleared up 1,102 bottles and cans.
Creating an impressive impact and outcomes for the community
Their impact is phenomenal as over the past 5 years, and between the key times of 2000-0400hrs when the Street Angels are present, violent crime in Woking has dropped by 64.5%.
The BTCSoftware Team have been delighted to fund some of their great work and have contributed blankets, sandals and lollies as and when their supplies run low.
Ongoing support
Commenting on the support, BTCSoftware Business Development Director said, “We really like to support this very worthy local charity. The work they do and the positive impact they have makes such a big difference to the local community. Some of the BTCSoftware team have gone out with the Angels to observe their work in action and all were really impressed by the level of support and help they’re giving people each weekend. It is making such an improved difference to Woking.”
BTCSoftware will continue to support the Woking Street Angels’ great work and the positive impact this is having on Woking town centre at the weekends.
A big well done to all the Woking Street Angels volunteers and have a very Merry Christmas and a great 2018.
