With less than 60days before Making Tax Digital (MTD) becomes compulsory, a vast number of accounting practices and businesses are unprepared for this industry change. The UK government states that by April 2019, “businesses registered for VAT with a taxable turnover above the VAT registration threshold of £85,000 will need to keep VAT records digitally and file their VAT returns using MTD compatible software.
This new regulation has left the industry slightly reluctant to change due to the lack of them seeing no benefit to them as practices and businesses.

Earlier this year, BTCSoftware was included in HMRC’s list of suppliers with Making Tax Digital for VAT software after testing and being part of the private beta test environment. Also, BTCSoftware completed their first live for MTD for VAT submission.
