We are all very proud of Ian’s and Rob’s efforts yesterday in the Prudential Ride London 100 Sportive Cycle.
These two BTCSoftware Directors both did a great job and impressively tackled all the notorious Surrey Hills cycling challenges like Newlands Corner, Leith Hill and Box Hill.
Sadly Ian did experience a nasty puncture which prevented him from finishing, although he had done a fantastic job completing 83 miles of the course.
Rob, however, made it to the finish line at Buckingham Palace and was pleased in the last 2 miles that he averaged over 23mph. As he said, ‘Not bad going considering the stage of the day. The extra 10 miles I had to cycle back to the O2 carpark was another matter!’
Both Ian and Rob were delighted that, unlike last year, this year’s event was blessed with glorious sunshine. They were also very grateful for all the support and well wishes they received from friends, family and other spectators on route.
Their fantastic efforts on the day meant they have raised vital funds for both LinkAble and Scope. Linkable is a Woking-based charity which provides sporting, social and leisure activities to those with learning disabilities in the local community. Scope is a charity that exists to make this country a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.
Well done Ian and Rob – a great effort all round.
